Rear Window Scraper Seal

The scraper seal on my 2007 4Runner has dry rotted and I would like to replace it. Does anyone have a illustrated breakdown picture that shows the Part Number and how to change? Thanks

it is under body hardware, lift gate, glass and hardware. item #3 belt with strip. $20.06

you have to remove the rear inside panel first and then it just pops out. let me know and I can walk you through it if need be.

Bringing this back from the dead. We just bough a 4th Gen and have to replace the rear outer seal (on the bottom of the window) as well. Does anyone have any detailed info on how to remove the old one and install the new seal? I just don't want to screw anything up!!

In case you still need some help and for the benefit of others ...

I bought the scraper seal at a local toyota dealer for about $32 plus tax. Some might complain about the cost but considering the ease of getting it locally, etc., I have no complaints. As to removal and installation it is VERY easy. The so-called clips that I have seen referred to in several threads are NOT "clips". A better description would be seam covers. They come installed on the piece that you buy and cover the seam or gap between the weatherstripping that covers the rest of the window and the bottom scraper/sweeper piece. Do not try to remove them. On my 2007, I was able to remove the old unit with my fingers. You might need a flathead screw driver of similar thing to pry up one end - from the inside with the window DOWN) - but it will come off. Then just fit the new unit on and press down from one end to the other. Walla mon ami! Easiest "repair" I have ever done on a car. While the unit is off, take the time to clean the body and the window not reachable when the unit is installed.

Worked perfectly

I did exactly what is said above. It worked perfectly. Just grab one side of the weather stripping wiggle and pull up. I didn't have to mess with the clips or anything.

The "clips" are part of the bottom weather stripping assembly so they come up when you pull on the piece.

It was a seriously easy DIY job.

I'm looking for the inner rear window seal for a 1st gen tailgate. Does anyone know where I can find an aftermarket solution? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. It seems through my searching that any salvaged vehicle or tailgate assy has already had this part stripped. It's so frustrating, exhaust leaks through the gaps between the rear window and tailgate housing into the cab if any windows are opened. I don't need to restore the original part, I just need a functional solution.

Anyone know the part number by the way?

68160-89111 Weatherstrip Assy. This is technically the outer seal, but you can shorten it to fit the inside.

Just did mine this weekend. Super easy, just lower back window and pull up and out from one end to the other. Also blew out all the crud and dirt from the seal

When I replaced mine, I ordered the rear and all doors, because my driver's was torn so I figured I'd replace them all on the doors, I also ordered 4 OEM oil filters, less than $3 apiece, they packed everything in the same box it was around $100 and shipping was only $13.

I got my replacement from amazon for $55 and it was soooo easy to replace. I removed the old one, cleaned the glass and door and popped the new one in place, zero issues.
