Rear Window Scratches

Is it just me or is this thing just prone to scratching? It seems I really did a number on it this winter with the ice scraper.

Same plastic ice scraper I've used on other cars and all other windows on the 4R with no issues but the rear has some nice lines on it now. What gives?

I don't think I've used a scraper on mine since I use the rear def. to melt stuff off , but IMO Toyotas glass is crappy , especially front and back windows.
