Howdy!
This is my first post on this excellent forum!
I recently traded in my 97 4Runner SR5 for a used but extremely good condition 2007 4Runner SR5 and am fixing and repairing a few things on it. This forum has been a fantastic resource for me thus far.
I just replaced the rear lift door window weatherstrip as the old one was cracking and suffering from dry rot. However, while doing so I noticed that the rubber seal on the bottom edge of the wiper arm "step" that the wiper arm rests on (just below the weatherstrip) is missing part of its rubber seal. It looks like the part of the rubber seal for the angled top part of the step that contacted up against the weatherstrip for the window has broken off and now there is a 1/8 gap between the top edge of the step and the face of the weather strip.
I just ordered a replacement wiper arm "step" rest from an online parts dealer, but was wondering if anyone has official Toyota replacement instructions for it. I know I'm going to have to tear into the inside of the lift door to change it out, but I'm praying that the bolt or whatever secures the step rest will be easy to get to.
