Rear Windsheild Wiper Got Jacked!

My rear windsheild wiper got the 5-Finger Discount treatment at Wal-Mart... I Already have a new wiper but my problem is the bolt that protrudes from the back of my gate is broken off about two threads too short :bash: Does anyone know if I can find another and replace only the bolt or will I have to buy a whole new motor assembly... I will try to post some pics of the part i am talking about tomorrow... And nobody here treated themselves to a "free" wiper in Jasper, AL last night did they???? :cannon:

Wow that sucks, do you think its more like vandalism than stealing though, who would steal a wiper arm?
 
if you were at walmart then you need to go in and talk to the head of security, ever notice ALL those camera's looking at the parking lots? chances are they might have an image of someone doing it.... just a thought

This thread made me chuckle, thats the oddest thing ive heard. But then i heard the walmart part, in my town we dont support business like that. Bummer, im sure it will be inexpensive to fix though, hit up a salvage yard
 
wow, that is very unusual. the weirdest one i ever heard was stolen 'spare tires'. but about the motor, like broncosi said, go to the junk yard and check it out or ebay.

Its a long shot of getting a clear shot of the person doing it, and if you get a shot of the vehicle they drove in if they did drive, thats even harder to find. Unless they noticed it as it was happening, and they zoomed in on it. Other wise its a long shot. I am a Surveillance Supervisor at a casino, and the general over shots dont really get a clear shot of their face to identify anyone.

do you guys record it by computer or vhs? the place i work at record full video with computers which is alittle better than vhs or dvds. they have a whole storage of HD piled in their office. but most likely, Wal-mart could look it over. but not much luck if it's dark.

We have both, we have whats called DiVars, and some on VHS. To convert it all over from VHS, its quite expensive. I cant say how many cameras we have, but i'll jsut say its between 300-500 cameras covering every inch of the property.
 
A car wash trashed the rear wiper on our '98 'Runner, snapping off the threaded part of the wiper transmission's output shaft. Our local dealer gave me a written estimate of several hundred dollars to fix the problem, which included a complete new wiper motor/transmission assembly as well as the wiper arm and blade.

There was enough of the original output shaft left to permit me to drill and tap the shaft to take a small bolt. This was easy to do and was strong enough since the stress of driving the wiper arm is taken by splines on the output shaft which were undamaged.

I collected the several hundred bucks from the car wash's insurance company and fixed it myself for $40 or so, about the cost of a new wiper arm and blade. Worked fine ever after.
 
no luck with the Walmart people -Fat Security Guy was eating a Butterfinger - I dont think he could have caught an 80 yr. old woman leaving in a power wheels truck- and they said no chance. How did you tap the spline? i'd be intrested in fixing this soon... Thanks for the help!

I got my Trucknutz, and they broke off the whole rear wiper assembly bending the shaft as well. The dealers told me I will have to replace the whole thing including motor. That Sucx worst! To make it even bad, it happened at a library parking lot here in Renton Washington State.
I think it was done by either kids, tree huggers or idiots! I'm still on the lookout for the nuts, I engraved my initials on it and if I se it hanging on someone's rig, I'm bashing in his window. Worst part is, when I had that done, my Bushmaster AR15 was in the truck, good thing they didn't break in, I would have had to pull the concealed Glcock 27 and had to kill someone stealing my rifle.

Now that's Bad!

Not sure if 'kregg' got this problem fixed but let us know how it goes. Some people usually take the rear wiper off anyways for looks. Like some Scion or other show cars take it off. Sometimes i don't think there's any use to it because it's a vertical window which it'll slide right down but when it's snowing, that'll be a bitch.

Walmart do have security. There was this one time, an old lady shoplifted this magazine, security came out and tackled her right in front of me. WHOA! HAHA. coolest thing ever. but i'm sure you didn't get jacked, someone was just fuckin' around and broke it because they were jealous they didn't have a T4R. :arrow:

Walmart security lax, I saw a dude walked out at night by the back where they do oil change, pressed a button to open the door behind the cash register counter and walked out with a big box of toy, right in front of me. Wow!

But yah I definately agree it was some shits looking to be funny and vandalize, how much could a rear wiper cost? $20 at most?

I know this thread is from a long time ago but my rear wiper motor hasn't been working for a couple years now and I just have never fixed it. I was thinking about taking it off but what do people cover the opening with when you remove it?
