rear winshield wiper & washer fail to operate

Hello, again all.

I have checked the fuses. they are OK. These item worked a few days ago. I hear no pump motor when I engage the steering wheel stalk switch. There is plenty of washer fluid. I don't yet have the Trouble shooting manuals and I don't want to start tearing into the interior when I don't know where to go to do the VOHM testing.

Lower and re-raise the window full up. This is often the cause for no rear window wiper/washer function. It must be full-up.

Thank you, very much! I was hoping that it was something simple like this. That last retracable rear windscreen I dealt with was my parents' 1973 Buick Sport Wagon.

I have a problem similar to this, my rear windshield wiper works, but the fluid won't come out the rear. I have plenty of fluid, the windows are all the way up, and like I said, the wiper works. Any ideas why the fluid isn't coming out?

Can you hear the pump working for the rear washer? It's mounted on the bottom of the washer bottle I believe - may be either loose wiring or a burnt out pump.

The rear window washer and wiper are controlled by the rear door ECU...along with the rear window. If the battery is disconnected (or something else ineterferes) the ECUs must be reinitialized by pushing and holding the rear window down button and then pushing and holding the rear window up button to reinitialize the ECU. same thing with sunroof and drivers window....thru another ECU.

Suddenly my front and rear washer pumps arent working. Which fuse are these tied to since both washer motors appear to work just fine and the fluid tank is full? Is there a different fuse beside the console washer motor 30A fuse? Strange that I lost both pumps which makes me believe its a fuse or relay gone bad somewhere? Please let me know what to check for the fix.

Good info, thx. I was perplexed about ours not working recently and then as a last resort put the rear window down and then up, and voila it started to work again! I have been disconnecting the battery lately to clear a CEL issue, and that would seem to match the explanation given above.
