rear wiper not working

The rear wiper on my '90 4runner is not working. I am new to these 4runners and I'm wondering if they are prone to this problem (i.e. is the rear wiper switch a common problem)? I haven't started to diagnose this problem yet though. I have to get out the multi-tester and the test light this weekend.

check the fuse first, then pop off the cover that goes over the motor, and use a test light or multitester to see if your getting 12 volts to the motor with the ignition on and the switch in the on position. if you are, the motors bad, if your not, the switch is bad.

Or there is a problem with one of the safety interlock switches, which also result in no +12V to the motor.

There are interlocks that prevent the window from going down if the wiper is not "parked", the wiper from working if the window is down, the tailgate from opening if the window is up, etc.

Alright, I believe this is where my problem lies. Do you know where I can find the interlock that prevents the wiper from working if the window isn't up? It seems to me an easy fix would be to bypass this interlock. Also, I need to know where the relay for the rear wiper can be found as I want to check it out. Does anyone know?
