rear wiper?

is there a way to adjust the rear wiper? mine hardly even touchs the glass so it doesnt do sh*t

Not sure if you can. Maybe try replacing the blade. It's 12 at the stealer.

You know, I was just noticing this same thing today. I think it's just time to swap out the blade for a new one. I'm gonna hit up the dealership tomorrow and get one and see what a difference it makes. So far I haven't been able to find anywhere else that carries a blade in that size - I'm sure they exist, but I dunno where just yet.

I'll keep you posted. I know when I got the 4Runner it was just fine, but with the cold snap we've had and the road grime it's stopped doing it's job.

UPDATE: I just managed to find a couple of online vendors that carry that blade size, but I'm not sure if it'll be a fit, so I may just end up ordering from them instead, I dunno - at any rate, I'll keep you posted and let you know if I see any improvement once I aquire a new blade.

Gotta be a spring of some sort in there. Mine's a bit slack in colder weather too. I'll eventually get around to checking that spring, maybe putting a stiffer one in there or replace it.. Might look at winter wiper blade for it, too, if avail.

But till then... "What's behind me is not important!"

I think I agree with the spring idea, it certainly stands to reason with the temp dropping. Even still, I needed a new blade back there so today I got a replacement from the dealership, but unfortunately when I pulled it out of the bag I realized it was too long to mount to the rear arm (sorta defeated my purpose of going to the dealership for this).

Heck I could probably cut it in half and use it twice. In fact, I think I will try cutting it down and installing it back there tomorrow provided the weather isn't too crazy.

I will let you know what shakes out of my attempt - but I don't think there's much to this.

i cant stand wiper lines so ive not once used it? so im no help. if it gets bad i just wash it at a gas station. i dont know why im such a stickler and i stick to my guns too. no matter how bad it gets i wont use it.

Try Rain-X... Rain-X usually is hard to take off if you apply straight on. However, this is what I do.

Every car wash (Fall&Winter), I wipe down the windows with windex+ Rain-x. That way, I still benefit from the Rain-x, and it is easy to wipe down. OR, if you are applying Rain-x directly to the window, spritzer the MF Towel or the newspaper with h2o and then with Rain-X.

Same here, for all I know it's possible mine doesn't work at all.

No probs here other than when it snows, the blade collects icebergs. Defroster is no help b/c the blade is away from the back window not like the front wipers. Front wipers get warmed up thru the windshield when defroster is on.
