Reassembling the rear axle

I am reassembling my rear axle this weekend, and I am just wondering if I need to use locktite, anti-seize, etc. on all the bolts for the LCA's, UCA's, panhard, shocks, etc. They are pretty sizeable bolts, and I will be torquing them to the proper torque, but I am not sure if it is necessary, or even recommended to use anti-seize or locktite.

I have put POR-15 on most of the metal, and will be spraying FluidFilm on all the nuts and bolt heads when I get them back on to prevent rust.

I used an airgun when I removed them from the donor truck, but I don't think they had loctite on them.
If I were going to use some, I'd use the removable one ( I think it is blue ) not the permanant one ( I think red ).

Let me know your thoughts on the fluidfilm, I've been thinking of getting some of that myself.

Use the Blue Locktite( TopDown is correct this is the removable type).

I am picking up a 2000 this Saturday with an E-locker that I will be swapping into my '98. I have heard that there were changes made in the ABS system during the years 98, 99, and 2000. I'm hoping neither of us will have problems with this

Good luck with the swap. Lucky for me I will have the complete wire harness including button and ECU to swap with it :bravo:

Wouldn't it be a better ride to swap your goodies & engine into the 2000 and enjoy the upgrades from the '98?

I'll probably swap out some of the upgrades into mine, but I like the color of mine too much to swap to the 2000. Plus mine seems to almost be in better condition than the 2000.
