rebate or low interest rate or both

I bought mine back in July of 04 but I was able to get 1000 rebate, 1.9%, and the $400 grad rebate. I don't know what the current offers are but it never hurts to ask or wait until sales start cooling off a bit.

Is it possible to get the Toyota rebate and the low apr. Just curious.

You cannot get both because this incentive comes from Toyota motor corp, its one or the other. However, you can negotiate further with the dealer once you have decided which deal to go with.

In general, if you intend to finance the entire purchase price or a large percentage, the low apr is the way to go. If you prefer to put a large down payment or have a lot of equity in your trade, then the rebate is a better option.

I disagree 1.9% is damn near free money . Only put enough down for a comfortable payment , keep the rest and invest it . Do not put all your money into something that depreciates , use the most you can to invest.

Even basic Cd's at your bank are at 3-3.5 % and you can do much better if invested in the right spot.

I agree with Falls, 1.9% is slower than inflation in most cases. You could earn 8% or more investing money properly.
