Rebuilding a 2nd gen supercharger

I know most guys have sent their SC to magnuson to have them rebuilt. I have seen two other options. Below are the links to the two different websites. Those of you with experience and knowledge, please provide feedback on the two options here. What I would like to know is if you have any experience dealing with either company and or their products and what sort of results you have observed. Obviously if you have other recommendations or related insight, please feel free to chime in. I have the other parts of this project squared away already, (transmission, fuel system etc.) so please stay on topic as much as possible.

Only the 1st gen (gray) units need to be sent out. The 2nd gen ones can be rebuilt at home.


I actually will be doing this tomorrow on mine. Along with a URD pulley.

TRDparts4U is the place I bought my nose cone kit from, got here in like 4 days!

When my oil change kit arrived from TRD, it includes the phelonic drive adapter. It also included instructions for changing it....which detailed removing the whole supercharger. I was like...huh? That's silly. Good to know you can easily drain the oil, remove the nose and change that adapter while it's all on the truck.


How does one know if the whole nose drive needs replaced? I assume mine is fine, but I don't have anything to compare the sound it makes to.

Remember that video i emailed you? You can hear my bearings buzzing along with the much louder rattle of the supercharger, which is normal. I would post it but im on my phone..

Ill post a link to my build after I finish the nose cone job today.

Sweet. I'll post a video of mine as soon as I get some free time to work on it. I have a list of stuff to do, but just haven't gotten the time to even do any of it yet.
