How much were the heads and block decked during the rebuild?
Did you put the stock injectors back in or leave the higher flowing ones?

Brand new heads so they did not shave down the heads.
Left the injectors on. still the high flow.
I found the exhaust leak and tightened it up. was at the headers where they meet up with the Y connector.
Noise is gone.
going to put this SC back on.. omg. I hope this was it

After having the SC off for a day, I really want to make this thing work. The power improvement that the SC provides is substantial, although it not a race car by any means, and this is with no tune and no extras.
exhaust leak was definitely contributing to high rpm noise. I'm still not sure exactly what is going on as nothing is constant. Sometimes I'm getting smooth pulls and sometimes hearing fluttering. pushing forward...
Thanks to lots of reading up I figured that I can see timing on the torque app. Am now watching that as well as others until it get my AFR gauge set up. did a vid. today. interesting why timing was pulled back to 12-10 at partial
throttle and 3k. and when it dropped the gear and up to 4 k timing changed to 15.

Also found out that I have an extra O2 sensor space on my headers and looks like an AFR sensor will fit.. (as long as they are the same thread and size) no need have a bung welded in! saw it as a sign to move forward.
from what I can tell the MAPECU3 is the way to go to pull timing where needed (AEM FIC unit is not available) and get the ECU to allow more fuel. looking into this as it is 700. buck and that is manageable if it will provide a solution and more power options.
Other pic is of spark plugs after a few hundred miles. very amber/rusty I thing this is from a lean AFR....
Edit: after looking thru my old posts and watching the vid of my engine pinging at 4500 k that is pretty freaky. can the ECU not pull timing back that fast? is the MAPECU going to be able to control that. I have not done a pull like that since. king of scared to. haha eek

Installed a boost gauge the other night. Tee'd into the same port as the fuel pressure regulator. Was not getting any readings. Turns out the barb fitting on the back of the SC was 100% clogged. no vacuum at all. Replaced that will see how it goes. Getting about 6 lbs of boost when I get on it. Next up is the AFR gauge.
