Recall Alert: 3,235 2009-13 Toyotas

So, I went back about 100 threads(Yes I counted, don't have a life I guess lol)
I found numerous threads on the gas pedal, the "Clunk" recall/TSB
and I didn't find any info on this(If infact there is a thread ALREADY on here, please excuse the ignorance, and point me in the right direction so that the mods can DELETE this (Ignorant) thread lol:


Recall Alert: 3,235 2009-13 Toyotas - KickingTires


Southeast Toyota Distributors is recalling 3,235 vehicles spanning model-years 2009-13 due to problems with the occupant sensing system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The affected vehicles were modified by Southeast Toyota Distributors to include accessories such as leather seat covers, seat heaters or head-restraint DVD system. During the installation process, the passenger seat occupant sensing system may not have been tested. This could cause the airbags to not deploy or to deploy inappropriately for the passenger's size, increasing the risk of injury.

The affected vehicles include:

2009-2013 Highlander and Venza
2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius and RAV4
2009-2010 Avalon, FJ Cruiser and Highlander Hybrid
2010-2013 Corolla, Sienna and Tundra
2010-2012 Sequoia
2012 Prius V

Southeast Toyota, which operates in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina will notify owners before the month's end, and dealers will inspect and recalibrate the necessary sensors for free. Owners can call Southeast Toyota at 800-301-6859 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more info.

I don't remember if this has been posted or not. But its more than likely just a local TSB/Recall notice because of improperly installed Dealer add-ons.
