recomendations for brake pads quick!

i cant take it anymore,my ears have been bleeding with the noise of the fingernails running down the chalkboard! but 10 times worse! ive tried every brake pad lube possible, every brake cleaner ETC. even what guys on here have recommended just nothing works! theres a little rust on the rim of all my roters, but i find that common on most 4 runners ive looked at, im just thinking the guy who re- did my brakes 4 months ago used some crappy pads!

i need a good off road brake pad!, that can handle alot of water and 33"s and that WILL NOT squeak!... im in puddels and dirt usually alot from my job

what do you guys recommend?

I'm not sure about off-road specific pads, but I'm using Centric Posi-Quiet Premium ceramic pads and they feel great with no noise... I installed them myself.

I agree... I wonder if shims were used.

For initial bite upon brake application you will not find a better brake than OEM Toyota. Plus, they don't squeak. However, they do build heat quickly if you do heavy towing or your rig is outfitted with HD equipment, such as big tires, and extra weight. This causes rotor warpage and rotor glazing, not to mention extended braking distances. I tow my race car with my T4R and OEM pads and am cautious about not heating up the brakes. They do fine.

I have had good luck with Hawk HPS on my Tahoe. They are nearly as good as OEM for initial bite but do not fade as quickly and I experienced no glazing at high temperatures. They do wear the rotors quicker and they will squeak once in a while when it is humid. But not like the annoying squealing you describe.

Before changing pads perhaps you should look into the anti rattle springs on the front calipers. They may need to be spread out again (if your mechanic reused them) or replaced. Rotors won't cause squeaking, even if they are glazed. It's the pad vibrating in the caliper that causes the squeaking/squealing.
 
When did you get your pads replaced? Also are the brake pads wearing evenly? Is there any other concerns regarding the brakes other than the squealing? Also where is the Squealing coming from? Front axle, rear axle, right side, ect.
 
ebc greenstuff 6000 series front and back, u can also try the 7000 series if u need less brake dust. but the 7000 series only in the front tho.
 
I have a set of Hawk LTS waiting on me to install them. I wanted EBC Red or Yellow Stuff, problem was they don't make the Red Stuff for our 4runners and the Yellow was just too expensive for my taste. Not to mention the Yellow stuff is overkill for me. I just need to tow a heavy load a couple time a year, other than that it's small trailers and such. I did a lot of reading and for $69 shipped, the Hawk pads won my vote. Today I'll be ordering Centric Cryo Rotors to pair up w/ the pads. OEM is ok, but for anything other than putting to work and back, I would upgrade. My OEM pads glazed over and left uneven deposits after ONE trip pulling a friends 24' 5000# boat. I wasn't overly hard on the brakes, but realized quick I need a pad that doesn't fade and all but stop working when it heats up.
 
The Hawk pads that I have I cant stand. They give off so much dust, and on top of that the dust just absolutely ADHERES to my rims. I have to use a non-scratching SOS type pad to get it off.
 
When it comes to brakes, i dont eff-around. I go OEM every single time. Ive tried other brands, Raybestos, etc...but OEM always wears best, works best, least warping/heat-issues, and honestly, when you are dealing with the stopping power of your vehicle, DONT SCREW AROUND! just go OEM and stay secure.
 
OEM pads are ok for most folks and for most circumstances. HOWEVER...there are pads out there that are FAR superior to OEM pads when it comes to heat resistance, leaving pad deposits, and overall stopping distance. Keep in mind Toyota doesn't make pads, some random company is hired out too make millions of pads and stamp "Toyota" on them. I am a huge Toyota fan, so don't get me wrong, they do make good stuff and likewise stamp their name on good quality products. But don't kid yourself and think Toyota pads are better at stopping your vehicle and resisting heat that EBC Yellow Stuff or another "racing" pad. My new OEM pads overheated and left uneven deposits on my rotors giving the "warped" feel after one trip towing a large ski boat. I can almost guarantee a higher quality aftermarket pad such as EBC or Hawk that is designed for towing, will not leave those deposits.
Just my thought. I may be eating my own words after I install my Hawk pads!
 
im still looking into it... i might get the "free" brake check at lesch swab.. i know the manager at one of them.. but yes, all the talk about warping the roters etc.. doesnt sound good considering im towing a 4500# wakeboat around during the summer and have 33" in about 80-100 degree heat at usual
