Just a follow up.
I took my truck to a local shop to have the front 2 windows tinted and a clear bra put on the front, and under the door handles.
It has been years since I have tinted a car/truck. I posted here to ask any Denver area locals where they have taken their trucks. The one recommendation came from a shop that is now closed. So, a friend of mine had his Taco tinted at a shop and it came out well so I went there.
All I can say is that the job they did was terrible. Winkles in the clear bra, bubbles and dirt. I didn't think it looked right so I had a friend of mine take a look at it, and he said it wasn't right. I was told by the shop that it would need to dry out, but from talking with a couple of other shops clear bra's don't dry out and look any different. The tint is another story, lots of bubbles, lint and a broken door panel clip. Needless to say I have been beyond upset for the past couple of days. BUT, it turns out that a friend of a friend of mine is the local 3M rep. This afternoon I took my truck to him, he removed the clear bra, put on a new one and wow does it look good. Tuesday he is going to replace my tint. So moral of the story is...well I don't have one. I wish I had known what crappy job this shop does, but they did a good job in the past on my friends Toyota, so there really isn't any way to know what your going to get with this stuff I guess.
For what its worth, I would recommend staying away from Alta Mere on Quebec and County Line Road. I do have to give them credit, when I went in and complained this morning and asked for a refund, they credited my credit card on the spot, so atleast there wasn't a huge battle to get my money back.
If your looking for a good shop in the South Metro area, let me know. I'll ask my friend who he recommends, or maybe he can even work you a deal on the side, he does fantastic work!
