Recommendation for the best jerry can?

I have been looking around to find the best fuel cans based on durability/price. I've read that many people consider the RotopaX canisters to be the absolute best available, but their fuel capacity to price ratio is way off.

Currently I am leaning towards ordering a few NATO cans from this company.

If you're anywhere near Canada, pop over the border to Canadian Tire and pick up a couple of these:
4WD Gas Can, 20L | Canadian Tire

They're nice Scepter brand plastic cans minus the CARBtarded spouts that are required in the U.S. (thanks California!). Much cheaper than the overpriced Rotopax (~$16 USD after the conversion), and will fit in standard 5 gallon can carriers.

I'd say the steel NATO cans are still the best/most durable, but they have become ridiculously expensive and can't hold a candle to the plastic cans in value.

I not too long ago purchased a couple NATO cans (Weivan) SP?
They are great, yes kinda expensive when compare to plastic and a little heavy when filled but dam! I really like them. If you go that route I'd suggest buying a pack of gaskets because those are the one thing that really can make the can useless if missing

As a former m1a1 crewman, I can speak for these plastic cans, if you can find them.

Talk about taking abuse and holding up... Cant imagine a metal can being better.

Scepter are best, real NATO cans are good, everything else in that form factor is garbage.

Obligatory mention of why plastic is better than metal cans:

1. They won't rust from condensation collection on the inside of the can.
2. They don't explode in a fire (they melt).
3. They weigh less.
4. They are generally cheaper.
