Its only a fine correct? They cant add points to your license because they dont know who was driving.

Get a new license plate with D's, 0's and O's

Its legal and cameras cant differentiate between the characters.

D0OO00D - see!

This suggestion is incredible. :lmao:

$221 at the intersection nearest my house in Orlando. I almost died when someone wasn't paying attention, ran a red light, and t-boned my car. I have no problem with the fines being as high as necessary.

wait a minute, YOU run a red light, get caught and sent a ticket, and your pissed ? :bonk:
STOP running red lights.

just tell them someone stole your truck and it wasnt you driving.

do they have a photo of your face too?

ive seen this work before. i know a kid who street races and things like that and he got a custom license plate like what eskimochaos was saying. in georgia we have a peach in the middle of the plate so he had all 1's and I's. they went over the peach and you couldnt tell which was which. cops never got him haha :flipoff:

The plate trick wouldn't work in CA, no O's in our plates. In CA, a lot of intersections are actually video cameras. It's to catch those that don't make a full stop turning against a red. When you get the citation, there will be a URL to enter your docket number and watch yourself committing the infraction. Gotta love technology... :(

Yea well there's reports in NYC that red light cameras were not locked into place sufficiently. I believe there are a reported 25 red light cameras missing.

You might say big whoop; however they are $6000 Nikon cameras. LOL

LOL Fail

I too got a ticket plus pic of suppose to be running a red light during a left turn of which I clearly remember was yellow. The lady who was following me was so close that I believe she triggered the camera. I am about to contest the ticket to court but ofcourse I called ahead, I sounded as polite and spoke like an angel, if they can review the pics. And after an hour he called and did confirm that it wasn't me who ran the red light, it was the lady following me.

This 2009, those cameras were replaced with a video recorder type. Those cameras now are recording the intersections. They are more particular of those making Right Turns. We can turn right even in red signal but we have to make a COMPLETE STOP before proceeding.

so, Right Turn?? Complete stop first..

Most states have laws against plate covers or anything that impairs the sightlines of your plate and you will get pulled over for having those things since they are easy to spot by a cop.

The spray stuff is an alternative that can't be detected by just looking at it but it needs to be reapplied regularly and still isn't a 100% sure thing to work.

I'd suggest to just be mindful of your driving since it's the cheapest alternative.

there used to be one other person on this board who would post a picture in every single one of his posts and it always made me wonder why . . .

Back on topic though. No, most all sprays fail at life. Mythbusters covered them all. Tinted covers are also illegal and considered obstruction of a clear view of your plate.

Also reccomended was tell them it wasn't you driving. Come on people, these aren't 2nd graders running this program. There is an affit david(sp?) you fill out if it wasn't you driving, and you reveal who was driving. The problem with conning this: the person you accuse has to accept or else the ticket is placed back on the name of registration.

Your only real battle against this is to fight town hall or your city hall. You can request a hearing to defend yourself and give them your story(ie i was rushing to the hospital because i cut my finger off with a hole cutting bit attempting the deckplate mod). They review your case and either send you a letter of denial back or a letter retracting the fine with your deposit back. The people you argue your case to are a couple of town or city volunteers so as not to be bias.

I got a fine at a red light camera and went and fought it. I ran the light safely(it clocks your speed) at 15 mph and ran it by .012 seconds. I ran it because i couldnt stop in time, but checked the intersection first. I was delivering a car FULL of produce, vegtables and eggs, that would have been all over the place if i had of stopped. Needless to say, 3 weeks later i recieved a letter of denial, lost a half day at work and still lost my money for the fine.

since they have a picture of your truck, send them back a picture of the money..
argue that a picture is not prima facie evidence as it merely depicts the position of the truck at that time. they don't have proof of the truck actually going through the red. for all they know you are parked and broken down.

There's an app for that!

If you have an iPhone you can download an app that alerts you of speed traps and sitting cops (reported by fellow iPhone users) and red light camera intersections.

If you don't have an iPhone, get one. It's about the price of your ticket. :driving:
