It all started with this

I bought this 2001 Sport Edition when I was 16 years old. I had a little fun with her. Swapped out the suspension to '99 tall coils, and added some 265/75r16 BFG A/T's. It was such a good car to have. It took me and my friends shooting, hunting, fishing, and to the ski slopes. The problem is I shortly got the urge to upgrade. I wanted something newer, with more power. This was our second 4Runner, and I kind of had an attachment to them. I knew that my next car had to be a 4th gen 4Runner. I'd been looking for over a half a year, and then this rolled in to our local dealer.

Haha I wish. After negotiating the price of the trade in with stock wheels and tires, they offered to give me an extra $1,500 for the wheels and tires. I let them go since in total I only paid $1,300 for them. My trade in value was more than I could sell it for then, so I let them go.

So the first mod is finally installed. I decided to do everything at once, so the lift went on today and tires are coming Friday.

The lift: OME 885 front, Superflex rear, with Bilstein 5100's all around. I've been researching lifts for 4th gens for probably close to a year, but I still didn't realize how much lift this kit will give you until I saw it in person.

This thing looks like a beast now. Next up is putting on the Spidertrax I saved from my 3rd gen, and 275/70r17 BFG AT KO's.

Crappy pictures again, I know. I'll get a hold of my dad's Nikon soon. Tires are now on. I couldn't be happier with them. The ride is firm, but that's how I like it.

I already have them. I had them on my 3rd gen and saved them when I traded it in. I've been waiting for a day here without rain to jack it up and put them on.

Truck looks great! A lift and tires makes such a big difference. I have the same size and brand tires, love them! But sometimes I wish they were a bit bigger, think I've just gotten used to them. I'll be watching your thread for new ideas! And congrats on the "newer" rig!

Thanks! I hated the idea of 285's because of the width. I get a lot of snow up here and the skinnier the better. I've still got a lot more planned this summer, so keep following.

What did you set your Bilsteins to?

I used the OME 885 coil in the front so I had to leave the Bilsteins at the lowest setting. Anything higher and you risk blowing the shock out. The coils provides all the lift on mine.
