So, I’m changing differential and transfer case fluids this weekend. I’ve got a
‘10 limited 4wd. I’ll be using Mobil 1 75w90 in the diffs.., I have two quarts of Redline 80w gear lube with shockproof sitting on the shelf in the garage, can’t recall what I was using it in.., possibly motorcycle final drives. Was wondering if anyone has any experience using shockproof in the transfer case.
I read a couple guys that are running it in their differentials. I know the shockproof additive will tend to clog up vents and breathers which will cause seal leaks. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for use or none use.
I may call Redline today to see what their thoughts are.
