regards to ROLA Cargo Basket

does anyone with a 3gen have the rola cargo basket? I was wondering if I needed to purchase the rack also to hook the basket on. Are my stock rack capable to mount the basket.They are the rack that comes sideways(check my pic out). It only weighs 40lbs. so im also wondering is the basket pretty cheap in material or will it hang loaded with full ice chest.
Any other recommendation for baskets.

I have the Rola vortex with the extension and I think its pretty nice. I'm not worried about its carrying capacity but more about the mounting locations. I'm sure it'll hold a loaded ice chest as long as you strap it down well. I think you'll like it since its pretty low profile unlike the bajarack. I'm trying to find a better way to mount my rack since the stock crossbars make the rack sit a lil high. Other racks I was looking at was the rage powersports but that one is kinda short.

Rola Rack

You can see my Rola rack in the picture link in my signature. I have the ~20" extension as well so it sits over my sun roof a little bit but is mounted too high to interfere with the sun roof.

X2 on the fact that it sits up a little too high since it is mounted to my factory roof rack rails. Haven't taken the time to fix that with some sort of custom or "mickey mouse" part yet.

I have never been concerned on how much the rack will hold, though it is light it will definitly hold a ice filled cooler. You'll likely need to worry more about getting a ice filled cooler on top of your truck (two guys and couple of ladders... unless you're in the WWE) rather than if the rack will support the weight of a cooler. It might be better to put your cooler in your rig so the ice won't melt as fast and put something else up there .

ya i have the rola vortex also and its been great so far... i also thinks it sits a bit high so i plan to make custom mounts after if get my extension for it. I have pics in my profile with 4 lights mounted on the front and 2 on the rear. Good luck!

I made custom mounts for mine. It sits flush on the rails.

For the money spent this basket has been a great investment. Not cheaply made or to bang up.
