Relationship Advice? Figured I'd Ask You Guys

Ok this would take forever to explain but my last ex (ex1) dated for about three months and i recently broke up with her because i missed the girl before her (ex2) and we dated for over 2 years. Now that i'm actually talking to both of them now though i'm not sure if i really wanna dive back into it with ex2 because she lives two hours away from me now. the thing is i don't want to hurt her all over again by telling her that after i just did hurt her. ex1 seems to want to change now the things like her being so mean and controlling and honestly i really do feel bad for ending it because she is more like a best friend and i will not have her around if i do get back with ex2. tomorrow i'm going home to see ex1 and we are going to see a movie. i owe it to her anyways for ending a two year relationship over the phone i think. should i wait until then to make any decisions about if i wanna get back or not? and is there anyway to let ex2 know i might not want a second chance after i kinda told her i though i did? ex1 just wants a second chance.

any advice, questions, or opinions would help me guys.:confused:

Exes are exes for a reason. Don't try to relive the past, just move on and enjoy the challenges in building a new relationship by applying what you've learned from old relationships.
 
Which one is more willing/apt to support your 4Runner habit? Sometimes you have to ask the hard questions my friend!

I got confused with your exes (#1 vs. #2). But that's not important...

What is important is what YOU want to do with these relationships. Do you want to jump into it again, or are you just looking for a "friend with benefits"? BTW, It is great to have friends with "benefits", but if this is the way you want to structure your relationship, you need to be upfront with them.

My advice - stop living in the past and move on to bigger and better things ;): Like 004Gunner said, you call them "EX" for a reason.

I am inclined to agree with the previous responses.
plus, do you really want to commit yourself to another person because you feel like you 'owe it to them'?
Honesty should be your primary policy, and that would include being honest to yourself. I think it would be safe to say there is no rush in making a decision right away.
IMHO it would only be a matter of time before the relationship issues from before the break up would re-surface.

When I was younger an ex of mine and I attempted to try things over twice and it never worked out, so that's where i'm coming from.
5 years ago I was dating a girl but felt like i owed it to her to be with her because her friends said she liked me. That lasted for about 3 months, up to the point that i met my current girlfriend and knew I wanted to be with her instead. I felt guilty, to be sure, about leaving the first girl but i never looked back.

leave ex's in the past and move on. You will hurt them both sooner or later. Find yourself a new girlfriend.

My take is they're an ex for a reason and if it was going to workout, you would've never broke up with them in the first place. Some thing had to be bad enough that it was best to go your seperate ways.

My two personal rules are never get back with an ex or date within my circle of friends.
 
well they are not typical exes. the reason i broke up with my first ex is because my last g/f made me lol. she was tired of being "the other girl" both are great and special to me and i'm apparently special to them. it makes it hard to just let go when i still care for both.
 
Wow. No offense, I'm sure you're a great guy, but you need to leave both of them alone and stop toying with them. If you think the situation is hard on you how do you think it is on them? Take some time off from dating, get some space between you and them and find out what you REALLY want. And if it includes either "ex", then so be it. And if it doesn't... well, the great thing about southern women is there's a lot of them.

...but I'm no Dr. Phil.
 
:biggrin2: Nothing wrong going out or making out with your ex's as long as you don't start new relationships with any of them. There's a lotta fish in the sea.

AGREEDD!!!!! From my past relationships (4yrs. on and off with a guy) There is a reason your not with them and people CAN change BUT it takes a long long time and most of the time its not worth it and just better to move on..controlling women really never change. Many of my girl friends are like that and they wonder why they cant keep a guy!!!
 
Look to the future. Which one can you actually imagine proposing to and living a happy life? Not only that but you need to think of yourself once in a while in a relationship. Is she controlling? Does she CONSTANTLY want to talk to you, and get mad when you don't? Does she let you go out and have fun with your friends? Does she LET YOU BE YOU. That's a biggie right there. The reason people get into a relationship is because they like each other, and neither should have to change to be in a relationship. You gf/bf should be your BEST FRIEND and more, not just your gf/bf. I knew a few guys who are TOTALLY different around me (or any other friend), then they are with their gf. If you can't be yourself around your gf/bf, then they don't actually truly like you, they like the person you act like when your around them.

I'm no Dr.Phil either (but my name is Phil, heh), and I'm way to young to be giving relationship advice, but I recently broke up after nearly 3 years of being in a relationship and analyzed what went wrong. Whole different perspective once its in the past....

Follow your heart man, you have a feeling when ever you think, hear, or see that person that's right for you..
