Remanufactured wheel

I am having a wheel replaced(stock sport 17") due to a shop being responsible for damages to the wheel(which is a wole different story). Anyone have any remanufactured wheels?

I did agree to allow them to get me a used wheel, BUT they ordered one for me that was off ebay and it was garbage. It was bubbling, peeling, beat up still had road salt all inside from east coast winter. I refused to accept it as a replacement. So the shop's district manager ordered me a remanufactured wheel. Only it didn't match right. It was the right wheel, but it was coated with shiny epoxy, the whole thing. It was nice, just didn't look right matched up. My wheels are not coated with epoxy, they have a brushed look. Even the technician said a used wheel would match better. Wasn't a huge difference but I am detail oriented, meticulous if you will, and it would have bothered me. He is now getting me a used wheel, only from a reputable source, not ebay.

Back to square one. Wonder what I will get this time. Should have I just accepted the remanufactured wheel?

Does everyone else have matching spare wheel too? I haven't owned mine since new so I don't know if thats an addition or stock.

Why not use the spare as the new wheel, and have the replacement as spare, I know the wheels are suppose to match, but to get it to match he might as well spend 250 on oem wheel from dealer.

I want to the wheels to match because they matched before the wheel was damaged. I don't care if it is the spare or on the truck Point is there were five matching, before I want five matching now. Thats exactly what the shop manager told me when he tried to give me the first wheel, just stick it under. No thanks.

I was quoted $473 OEM. I don't need brand new, but my wife on the other hand thinks I do. But I do want it to look like the others. Not kind of like the other.

Reman's are used all the time. Get it from a reputable company like Transwheels and it will have a lifetime guarantee on peeling/chipping. Toyota normally offers only 12 months. Here's a couple

Hence - Toyota wheels are total crap right from the factory. I am getting the beads re-sanded for the 2nd time in 2 years due to the "road salt" corrosion. The dealer said this was normal for this area... I took him outside to show him a 2000 Yukon with factory rims, always in the snow (and road salt) with 160k miles on them... He muttered something and went back inside... Go for some aftermarket rims, you'll be happier in the end.

get brand new since they are going to pay for it, why not ? as long ur aint spending money on it, might as well buy the oem and call it a day.
