Hi All!

Just registered. (Not sure why it took me so long, lol) :hatsoff:

Anyways, I am getting the Viper 4103XV Remote Start with Keyless Entry installed in my 4Runner next week. Has anyone had any experience with this particular model with the 4th gen? Is there anything I should be aware of? To my understanding, this is the type that will keep the engine running for 25 min and will kill if the brake is depressed without the key.

as far as i know, the 4103xv is one of the less costly models, but should still work fine. i didnt get a viper for my 4r but even the cheap avital works well enough for me. most should have programmable run times, among other things, & shut engine off similar to what you stated if key is not inserted. the better higher priced units i believe can work things like defroster, windows, etc. the installer should also be able to program the toyota keyfob to work with it. theres a few threads on remote starters including viper, (not same model as yours) that many like. this may help & get u started. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/102605-viper-4103xv-remote-start.html http://www.toyota-4runner.org/general-discussions/57924-remote-start.html

i just got the Viper 5901. its their high end model with the LCD remote with feedback. its really nice, has a really good range. they say the range is a mile but i found it to be a little bit less depending on interference. and it does so much. i want to go back and see if the installer can program it to activate the back window, which it should be able to do.

Cool! I wish the store I went to offered the 5901. Good to know you had good experience with it, thanks!
