Remote Starter. Which is best???

I have the remote start built into my alarm the python 881xv. It works great. I can auto start the vehicle when I'm walking out of a grocery store and the vehicle is in the very back of the parking lot. It has great range and has always worked great. My model is said to have 1/4 mile range while the newest model has 1 mile range but is expensive.

I can't speak specifically about 4runners, but working at a dealer I've seen the good and bad. Like I said I can't speak of 4runners, but for other manufacturers I'e seen numerous problems with ignition switch/security problems with autostart brand stuff. I've also had problems with the remote starters that ziebart uses. (I can't remember the name). I've never really had any issues with the viper or OEM stuff. Surprisingly, not to many issues to speak of with the lower line bulldog stuff either. The few problems I've seen with bulldogs typically is due to installation error. (bad crimp point leading to high resistance by the ignition switch leading to security/no start issues). My guess is the reason I've really seen no issues with viper and lots of issues with auto start and the ziebart brand stuff is partly due to the fact that viper most likely makes their installation techs maintain a lower comeback percentage and higher CSI to allow them to continue to sell their brand I can't confirm this, just a possibility.
I've seen good range with both the bulldog and viper. If there is ever a problem holding it to your chin helps amplify the signal.

i got the compustar, 2w900fm alram and remote start, with 3000 ft of range, like under a mile somewhere like 3/4? u cant go wrong with compustar also, maybe try the CompuStar Pro P2WSSR, has 6000ft of range, but i like the CompuStar Pro P2W9000FMR, or the regular CompuStar 2W900FMR, because when u have the same model installed on another vehicle, they have the abilty to control the other car with the same remote. i used this function alot since me and my dad move each others trucks in the driveway, we both have the CompuStar 2W900FMR. i drive the 07 4runner v6 sport, he drives a 06 tacoma double cab long bed prerunner. love that free suspension from that tsb for the truck, didnt need to buy the trd sport version, but with the tsb, it practically gave me the bilstiens and new srpings from the trd sport model free. 
I've got the viper 5701 which works very well and my old roommate has the 5901....great range on the 5901 and has a rechargable batter. I would suggest the 5901 for those reasons alone except that my remote is definitely smaller and less cumbersome. Love the viper alarms and remote starts.
