I think you'll have to take of the bumper ends first. Once you have those and the step plate off you should be able to figure it out on your own. See my sig.

i tld my dad just remove all the bolts, i wont be at the donor vehicle and he wont listen to me, so he insisted on instructions.

The side caps have to come off first...a bolt in the wheel well, another underneath the truck and I believe a third under that grey plastic step. Then all the bolts along the bottom of the truck will remove the center section

As you are in CT (snow/salt belt), you should be prepared to lose a few bolts (the ones that bolt into the bumper pieces. The ones that bolt into the truck should not be a problem.)

I forget the size. Even with PB blaster I lost three; they are small and snap easily when rusted up. It's not a problem if you are replacing the piece, but not so good if you intend to reuse the existing sides and brackets. The ones I lost were the two right in the corner of the truck and the one on the bottom (all going into the side piece).

As you are probably aware, accumulated road salt leads these bumpers to rust from the backside out. Some rubber undercoating or other treatment on the reverse of the new piece might give you a few more years. I wish I had, my new ones are already going after only two winters.
