Remove HELP message from factory radio

Anyone know how I can remove the help message on my factory radio without having to fork over big bucks to the dealer ?

Upon changing the original battery the radio had become innoperable my dad ( who was the original owner ) tried to input some codes and now it is locked with a "HELP" message and nothing seems to work .

Can anyone please help me ?

Try calling Toyota directly. They should be able to give you the code and possibly show you how to unlock your HU.

I did , called them they said you'll have to bring it in . I forgot to mention it's the unit that has the tape deck . cd player and radio

Well, hate to be the one to break it to ya, but if you tried the wrong codes 3 times, you have to bring it in to the dealership for them to unlock the stereo. I would call them to see if it costs anything. Most of the times, they charge you to take out the factory HU. If that's the case, you should remove the stereo yourself and bring that in and the dealership shouldn't charge you anything.
