Removing 3rd Row Seats

I have a 2011 SR5 and would like to remove temporarily remove the 3rd row seats. I have looked at the other threads on this topic and it looks fairly straightforward if you can get to the bolts that fasten them to the floor.

However, I can't determine how to remove the cover behind the seats so I can gain access to the rear seat bolts. Does anyone have advice on how to remove this cover? I was able to pry up the back section by the tailgate weatherstripping, but there seems to be additional hidden attachment points.

If you remove the 3rd row seats, the back area will be unfinished and not level.

There are 4 bolts that hold the seats to the floor, 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. You can get to the ones in the front by just popping off the bolt cover on the seat with a screwdriver. To get to the bolts in the back, you need to remove the long, plastic piece that is held on with clips. From there you can access the bolts in the rear.
 
^ Yep, very unfinished.

When I was looking for my "11 Limited," I didn't want a third row, wanted the slide out cargo tray. Salesman want's to tell me, "just remove the third row seat," I told him, find me a slide out cargo Limited.
 
Works perfectly for building and putting in a cargo storage box. Not only do I have extra room to store items, but when the rear seats fold down, they are the same level as the box so it works well for sleeing.

Are you referring to the rear-most piece that sits at the base of the tailgate? Do I need a special tool to remove the clips?

download the FSM from nashman's link, it has complete instructions.
 
Don't be afraid to just pull. I used a flat head screwdriver to get it started. You can see where the seam is, so start there.
 
Considering ripping out my 3rd row from my 2011 sr5 as well, Anyone hazard a guess how much weight that will take off the 4runner by removing the 3rd row?

I did this on a limited. I am 180 pounds and fairly fit. It was hard for me to move even one of them. I'd guess two of them are in the neighborhood of 200 pounds. Very heavy. If you search on eBay or some other place for its shipping weight, you'd probably find an accurate number.

Only if we can do a complete swap to make them look factory. That means all the side panels and 2nd row seating as well. Plus I’m in Dallas so we would be too far away anyway.
