Removing adhesive after detagging.. help?!

So I detagged my baby last night and everything looks great except I cant get the adhesive completely off!! It looks like there are clear letters still on my car from where the emblems were.. I thought maybe it was in the paint but after hard scrubbing part of the "5" in SR5 came completely off! Any tips?? Anything I can use?? So far its been a microfiber cloth and GooGone.
My thumbs are killing me now!

Try some rubbing alcohol its what I use at work when we get vehicles in with sticky residue. Works great on tree sap as well.

PPG DX320 Fast Evaporating Cleaner (kind of industrial stuff) should help. Body shops use it around here.

I have always used a dull/rounded off piece of plastic and goo gone. I scrape all of the solid adhesive off, and then use a polish/paint cleaner to get anything else. It takes a while, but always works for me.

It was a fairly warm day, probably 100 outside. I used dental floss and GooGone. Claybar and wax, done in 25 minutes.

worst case scenario - use a little gasoline. i emphasize little.

then proceed directly to wash the truck

I would recommend parking it in the sun & see if it would soften it up, making it easier to remove.

It may just be that you have a 2003 & the adhesive has been on for a long time.

I would recommend using Stoner's Tarminator. I've used it on my other cars that have bird crap & sticky tree sap & it works wonders. Comes off easy & doesn't damage the paint.
