Removing coil over

I'm trying to install bilstein 5100s, I can not get enough room to get coilover out. Do I need to remove the sway bar and tie rod or am I missing something. I'm trying to pry the lower control arm out of the way but can't really find a good spot to pry it down.

Just trying to see if there is a trick or something I'm missing or if I have to just wrestle with it till I can get it out.

Yes, I'd pop the TRE and sway bar off. I would also, if you still can't get it out, loosen the LCA nut. Just make sure you don't loosen the adjuster by mistake - loosen the back nuts and droop the LCA a bit. Mark where the adjuster was and set it back

Yes, you have to remove the 2 bolts that bolt the lower ball joint to the spindle and also the sway bar.

It helps once all is removed to pry down on the lower control arm and then there will be tons of room.

I got it, pretty cake after the sway bar and tie rod was removed I was just trying to be lazy lol. Anyone know what the torque spec for the upper ball joint castle nut is?

83 ft lbs iirc. In the 80s definitely. For the SPC LR UCA if you have it I think it's 45 but OEM is higher. I can check the spec when I get home.

lulz, i cranked it tight as i can then line up the castle nut. boom installed.

all back together with the front. I wasted more time trying to get around removing the sway bar and tie rods than it took to actually do it lol. I still need to install the rear spacers but i have to say im surprised with how big a difference the small lift makes. I thought i almost wouldnt be ale to notice it looking at it.

Again thanks for all the help guys.

also im guessing i have the stock springs even though the previous owner had replaced the shocks with bilstein 4600s. Are the springs different somehow? i just noticed the drivers has a blue and yellow mark and the other had a blue and orange. Just curious what the marking mean if anything.

One is passenger one is driver.

Drivers side is a hair taller or stiffer (I can't remember). Because it has to compensate for driver weight and gas tank on same side.
