Removing front side pillars

Folks,

I want to run some wiring down the front pillars (plastic pieces on inside next to windshield... the one that there are handles on).

Mine say they have air bags behind them. How do I safely remove those covers and reinstall?

I don't know how safe it is but I took mine off with no trouble. I think you're at greater risk messing around near the sensors. I didn't see any sensors in that area.

I think it was an 8mm or 10mm socket to get the handles off then it's just normal trim clips.

OK, thanks. I'm in the process of installing a Parrot unit and want to run the microphone wires behind that pillar

I put an extra handle above the driver door (as there was an empty spot there). The handle is put on with phillip screws (if I remember correctly). Either way, that is easy to take off... and then I'll take off the trim carefully. I might even disconnect the battery just in case.

Now... if I could only get the map light/overhead console out. I know there are clips holding it in on the front/windshield side of it... and I'm told you simply need to pull down. I've done that, but I'm afraid to put any more force on it than I have. Thoughts?
