Removing Rear Differential Carrier

I am attempting to remove the rear differential carrier in order to rebuild (the howling has finally gotten the best of me)
First off it seems that the actuator is fried. When I push the button on the dash the light blinks???
I have both axles off but cannot get the rest of the carrier out...something is stuck bad. The shift fork does not want to move. I can hear the actuator motor turning when powered however nothing happens!! Any ideas on how to get the carrier out?
Thanks,
Mik

So you have taken the axles out, disconnected the driveshaft, removed the bolts for the 3rd member and now you cannot take the 3rd member off the axle housing, right?

Pull the actuator off and with a screw driver you will need to push the collar over to lock the diff. It will not come out unless the diff is in the locked position.
