Removing rocker covers on SR5

To go along with the "I want to rip my 3rd row out" thread, has anyone considered or tried to take their rocker covers off of their SR5. It looks like it would provide a little more ground clearance, or at least expose more of the underside (which is cool).

I just wonder if this can be done easily; if it will expose any wierd holes or anything; if the fender flares will still look OK; etc. etc.

Should look pretty similar on the SR 5. I have since installed the TE rocker panels and TE fender flares (painted body color).
