Removing side rear cargo panels?

Ok guys I have searched and searched on both the web and here...what are your tricks on getting the rear panel pieces off? I need to finish the sound deadening in the back I have all the doors and the rear hatch done.

I have seen some threads talking about how difficult these panels are to remove but none that really gave any hints. The "knobs" that the net hooks on seems to be a difficult part to remove...any tips so I don't have to break one to see how they come off?

BTW I do not have the stock sub in the back if that makes a diff and had the base stereo system before my upgrade that is.

You think the upper panels will be pretty self explanatory?

No clue about the upper panels bro. If you want it done right, download the manuals online or get yourself the service manuals. They'll detail the steps of removing the panels and probably save you some head aches.

The upper panels are pretty much the same. Mostly plastic clips (pink) that hold the panels on. You will have to undo a bolt or two but they are obvious.

The tie down plugs on the panels are the difficult buggers. In actual fact, if you can get your fingers behind the panels after undoing all the screws, clips and bolts and pulling on the panel, you should reach behind the tiedown plugs a squeeze inward on two sides. The plug has two parts to it. The top of the plug (the round surface you see most easily) actually pulls out of the body of the plug much like a male/female setup. I broke one of these plugs trying to pull the bastard out before I learnt they are actually a two piece unit.

If you pictures before you pull it out, pm me. I am pulling off my panels this w/e to move some cabling for the cb radio antenna.
