Removing sport bumper trim

Has anyone tried to remove their sport bumper trim. I am finally going to take the plastic off and get something that will actualy do something. I just tried to take it off but I am not sure what Toyota used to attach it to the bumper. If anyone could give me some info I would appreciate it.

I have it on my truck. Came that way. I know it is worthless, some people think it looks cool? If you are going to upgrade the front bumper what have you found? I would advise you wait and find one made of aluminum or you will need new heavyduty front springs, etc. etc. (you still might even with aluminum) If you're just going to add something that attaches to the stock bumper you might as well keep the Toyota worthless crap. Go to some Landcruiser sites and see what they are using and go to those manufactures and see if they have fab'ed anything for the 4th generation 4runner. Keep us posted on what you find. I will probably end up getting a manik brush gaurd or maybe a t&h gaurd. Do you really think it will add enough weight to need new springs?

check this thread out.....looks like there'll be a couple of holes in the bumper if you remove it

I ordered an manik stainless steel brush gaurd today!!! Hopefully I will be able to get the sport bumper off.
