Removing the 4Runner emblem from the license plate frame

Does anyone know whats the best way to remove the 4Runner chrome emblem form the license plate frame?

You can use floss but just so you know, you'll have a a few holes of where its popped in place.

Will it be easier if I remove the whole plate assembly first and then remove the emblem?

No, not at all. Just take your time working it off of the frame. I bought a set of trim and emblem pulling tools for about 10 bucks on line. I bought them originally just because they were cheap and I was buying other stuff but I can't tell you how many times I've used them since. They really come in handy.

Thanks man. Well I dont have floss but I have fishing line..I guess that should do

The "4Runner" on the plate is not glued on, just snapped in. Fishing line will work great.

well it should be, maybe your runner was in a wreck and the shop did something funky. had adhesive tape (glue) as well as the two pins. id just leave it on, it left a nasty residue on mine and you can still see the outline

2X on the adhesive....but you can remove the residue using "Goo Gone". I simply plugged the holes, and then repainted my license plate trim piece. Unfortunately, I wasn't happy with the color....so will be re-painting that in the future......
