Removing the backing on the head light

I need help with getting the black plastic backing off of my head light. I need to replace on of the clips holding the light in position. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

first unhook the spring next start loosening those white adjusters you will only will only get soo far then the part with the arrow part needs to be pushed in then just keep turning the adjusters and it will pop off

use a socket wrench... ya dude i need to replace one of those pieces on my passenger's headlight since its aiming my headlight to the floor. Well looks like i know how to do this for sure now and now i jsut need to pick up the part.

How would I use a socket wrench on the white fasteners? Sorry if its a dumb question but I just dont see how to do it.

sry urs looks a bit diff then mine in that it has plastic around the screw for a 10mm socket. Hmm i guess since u dont have that, im not too sure on how the best way to go about that would be. I know u can move it with a tool but it takes much longer if u use a screwdriver as a substitute.

EDIT: not trying to hi-jack but does anyone know where and how much it is to replace one of those headlight backings? My passenger's one is cracked in two places...

Ya I really need to find a way to get those white fasteners off. I tried using a flat head to spin them but its not working

The best way to turn the adjuster gears is with the point of a Phillips screw driver. Look at the left side of the pic. There is a channel that starts at the top, you lay the screw driver in the channel and engage the tip against the white gear teeth. I think it's a #2 Phillips, but you need a long one and the right size. There is a shorter channel at the top right for the other one. The Phillips head works like a bevel pinion gear against the white ring gear.
