I left the valance off mine and love the look...
take off the valance and the bumpstops for added entry angle if you 4wheel,
leave it all on if not...
also- you may want to re-think painting the chrome bumpers...I haven't personally tried but I've heard it's hard to get any kind of paint to stick to them...

Like others have said, you will really need to sand/grind on the chrome hard to get any kind of paint adhesion. Without good sanding it might hold up for a few months, but after that you will probably start to notice the paint flaking off in places.
are there sensors for the air bags to deal with ???
