So... this happened this morning... except that the bin was INSIDE the back of my 4Runner. Note to self: check bin for cracks before putting several gallons of water in it in the back of your vehicle!

Back home after my SCUBA dive, I removed everything the back of the vehicle, opened the tray, and set up three fans. And angled the back towards the sun. But after an hour or two, I was concerned that the underside of the tray wasn't drying out very well. Searched the internet for instructions to remove the tray & found some here on this very forum!
Except they were wrong (for my year/model anyway), and following those instructions nearly made me break part of it. So here are the correct details for a 2018 TRDORP.
The sliding rear tray has two obvious removable carpeted panels, one on either side towards the back. Front and back refer to as if you were standing at the back of the vehicle, looking towards the front of the vehicle. "Front" means closer to you, "back" means closer to the front of the vehicle.

The panels are held in place by 4 push clips and two sliding tabs. The 4 push clips are towards the BACK of the panels. The 2 sliding tabs are towards the front (towards you). Use a flathead screwdriver to snap the push clips up... but don't use the screwdriver on the end closer to you or you'll snap the plastic sliding tabs.
Once you get the two panels out, you'll see 4 bolts under each. All are 12mm. However, 3 are of one type and the 4th on each side is of a different type. I don't know why. The different type is the one towards the back and towards the center of the vehicle. These ones are longer, pointed, have integrated washers, and are blue at the end.
Undo all 8 bolts and the sliding tray will just pull out. Or, in my case, fall out... you might want to not have it extended too far when you do this!
Now I might get the thing dried out better!!
