Removing the side chrome bumpers???

Found a 4Runner parts car at the junkyard today and I would like to swap out the right side rear chrome bumper to replace my rusted out one. Question: what type of tools will I need and do I need to remove the back bumper to get to the side one? Thanks for the help!

I think a 10mm a 13mm and maybe a grinder (if there is a good amount of rust, like mine has).

The link in my sig might help. All four bolts are the same size. Ratchet, short extension, 1?mm socket is all you need. Wish there were some good junkyards around me. Does that 4Runner have a rear air deflector (spoiler)?

I took mine off and I will never use it again...it's yours if you don't mind paying shipping...

No, you have to take the sides off before you can do the rear. So in your case you just have to take off the one side. Start at the wheel well and work back. I think the last two connect the side to the rear--you have to be underneath. Do not count on being able to reuse all the bolts; I snapped a few getting my old one off.

Just swapped mine out a couple of weeks ago. There are four or five bolts if I recall correctly. The plastic trim over the rear bumper must be removed to get to the rear/top bolt. Taking that off is easy, however I did break one of the clips while trying to pry it loose. A few of the bolts were a beeyotch to loosen due to rusting.

What up Bootown?

Went to the junkyard and picked up some parts for me as well as the 4 screws and washers off of a junked 4runner's spoilers...if you still need these, please let me know.

Cheers,
