For those that have had your hoods repainted or painted what all did you guys get charged? I got a quote today but the cost seemed a little out there.

Had a new hood painted this summer by Maaco at the one near Colfax and Josephine in Denver (it looks like you're in CO?). They did a really nice job and it was only $180. Probably going back there for future stuff myself.

Im interested in knowing the answer to this also. Clear coat is starting to peel although the paint is still in tact underneath. Any suggestions??

Generally, you get what you pay for with paint work. Cheap usually shows.

I just paid $300 to have my Bushwacker flares painted, they look great. Took my front bumper for my GTI to another shop, paid $180. Looks okay but nowhere near as good as my flares do. But I didn't care as much either, it's my DD and will get banged up again. The 4Runner is more of a driveway queen/weekend driver.

Hood paint

I had a local shop paint a oem scoop hood, fix some little dents, color match desert dune metallic to match the rest of my 98. Did an awesome job, for $250 out the door.

Im in the same boat,PO musta parked under trees alot,birds--t ate right thru clearcoat, plus a basketball dent from his kids, gonna try to see if my body man will do me right if I just take hood in,if it happens will post before after pics but may be this summer!(somebody raised my taxes!)

800 to paint the hood and to blend the fenders.

WOW...Personally I think that is too much, my T4R is white so I just left the new hood w/scoop there @ the body shop for them to paint and when it was ready I had them switch it out...
Yeah they wanted to blend and all, but it is white and I said no, plus they have a color spectrum scope that can tell them the sun fade (I think that is what it is called) anyway if the 4runner isn't faded too bad just get a quote for the hood paint and install only...I had mine done for $350.00 shop around for a cheaper body shop to do the work....

That's actually not too bad for doing it the correct way. If you are not anal about the color match most body shops can get it pretty close. I had mine done at a local place for $250, fenders not blended. It came out fine. Most smaller body shops are really hurting for money in the last 10 years. The hourly rate for body work hasn't gone in quite sometime. Try talking to them about doing a side job. Cash only type deal. A lot of shops do this. It put money in there pocket and cost you less.
