repainting the hitch..

My hitch is begining to rust pretty bad... How should i do this sand it down then repaint it?.... What kind of paint should i get?

POR-15 is the best for frame, no sanding needed unless major amount of rust.

i used those black spray cans that you can paint on bbq grilles.

Sanding first will make the paint out better. If you are good at painting you can use paint from spray can.
