Replace rear bumper cover, easy or difficult?

Is this a pretty simple project or does it take a while? Replace with same cover not aftermarket.

What year? One is a 3 part piece (pre '06) and the other is a 1 piece unit ('06+) .. not very difficult to do, but a lot of bolts and screws.

It's stupid easy.
All bolts are 10mm.
2 bolts in each wheel well. Underneath: 4 bolts in center, 3 on passenger side, 2 on driver side. On top: 3 plastic push pins(which are underneath the lower grill piece)
Disconnect fog lights and turn signals(easiest way to access them is by laying on you back on a creeper seat)
Now just stand in front of the bumper and pull it straight back towards you and away from the car.
Note:this is only for the 2003-2005 model years.

Speaking of, does anybody know of any aftermarket plastic covers for the rear bumper? Mine needs replacing (prior owner hooked up to trailers using the "got till you hear crunch" method). I'm not looking to get a steel bumper (yet), just something that will look better than it does. I'm thinking I just have to go and find another stock cover, just wanted to see if anyone else has some other type of solution...

I do most of my own work, but I don't mess with bumper covers. Too many clips, screws, rivets, stays, brackets, and plastic that you can't even see. Something always ends up broken in the process of taking it off/on. Screw all that.

If mine ever comes off in a crash or ripped off on the trail, it'll get replaced with a real bumper.

It depends on the vehicle, like I said, the '03-'05 is a 3 part bumper skin with the side and center sections connected by bolts, clips, and screws and can be removed as a unit and further disassembled. The '06+ come only as one piece.

Thanks. Mine was involved in a small bump last night and suffered some damage, not my fault. I'm not sure wether they are going to want to try to fix it or put on an aftermarket but there is one on CL for $250, same color in excellent condition. I may pick it up since it doesn't look like to difficult of a job.
