Replace what's not broken?

My 03 SR5 is creeping closer to 200k. I've checked out a lot of threads about preventive maintenance such as changing all fluids, checking ball joints, belts, waterpump, etc..

My 4Runner is driving well, and I'm not having any issues at the moment. Are there any parts that should probably be replaced sooner than later for piece of mind? Or is it better to wait and see how much life I can get out of certain original parts, and repair/replace when there are warning signs?

I want to spend my money wisely, and don't want to replace a bunch of parts that aren't necessarily going to make a difference. I also don't want to ever be stranded, especially with winter coming and an infant who will be riding in the back.

Radiator hoses, transmission cooler hoses, water pump, maybe a fan clutch. Id change thermostat, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and any pulleys that squeak or don't turn freely. Flush your brake fluid, change out coolant. Inspect your wheel bearings, and front suspension components. Maybe replace shocks if they are original.

Edit: Also a simple drain and fill of the transmission. Its easy since you have a dipstick

First thing I did when I hit mine at 167k miles was all new fluids (4qt tranny pan and filter to judge life) and all new engine peripherals. If it has a pulley, it got replaced.

Things I replaced later that were too far gone and made me feel bad: suspension, hood supports, tie rods, LCA bushings, brake fluid.

My radiator cap disintegrated a few months ago...

Appreciate it.

I'll start working on getting organized on what to get done at once, and find the parts needed. I'm unable to do the work myself, and want to use all OEM. I've got a mechanic I trust, but they usually use other brand parts.

I'm not a fan of the local dealer so won't be going there for anything unless I don't have a choice.

I just replaced my sway bar bushings at 200k. The truck handles way better. I wish I've done it sooner.

Check Amazon or eBay for Energy Suspension bushings or go directly to the MFR web site. Easy and check upgrade.

That's awesome I'm going to look into it. Really not sure how all that looks on my rig, but I'm sure a lot of those components could use a refresh.
