Greetings all,
My 1997 4Runner has 235K miles on it, and the wheel vibration(most pronounced at about 60mph) on these original wheels can be bad enough to spill drinks that are in the cup holder! Wheel balancing has not solved the vibration, and my mechanic says the rust now makes it impossible to balance these wheels(but says that grinding the rust off may help). My mechanic also said I could probably get a set of wheels and tires off craigslist for not very much money. I'd like to send 2 questions your way:
1) Considering that I would like to replace wheels and tires for $400 or less all-in, would you use Craigslist or another option?
2) Would any six-lug Toyota wheel work, or does it need to be only 1996-2002 4Runner or Tacoma wheels, for example?
