Hello, I am new to the forum, great information available. I just replaced my 1993 5-speed with a 2005 V-8. Black on grey, roof rack is about it. I got a $1,000 rebate and zero % for four years. The 2005 only cost about $5,500 more than my 1993 cost 12 years ago. Seems like a good deal considering the V-8, auto and additional creature comforts. I am stoked, thanks for all the good information.

Congrats on the new truck. I bet it feels kind of weird for you because the 1993 is a truck and the 2005 feels a bit more like a sedan. Lets see some pics of both rides when you have a chance!

Good move!!!

Now, enjoy all the improvements and refinements the 4th gen has. Going from a '98 to an '03 for me was like moving out of the stone age, so I can hardly imagine how much better your 4th gen will feel to you after living with a 2nd gen.

Enjoy.

Welcome to the 4th Generation, you will LOVE it and this site! Just hide your wallet.

As a concerned fellow 4Runner owner, I'll hold it for you :runaway:

Here's the problem; my wife decided I could not be trusted to have one anymore.

Thanks for you concern,
Koz

I replaced my 1991 4Runner after 13 years and 222K miles with a 2004 sport 4WD 3 weeks ago. I'm finally getting around to selling the old one. I took the V6 emblem off the '91's grill and installed it on the 2004. Looks good, and will maybe bring me the good luck I had with the old one. There is no comparison between the two. The '04 is great.

New to the forums here, but long time reader. Holy Cow are you guys full of a ton of info or what??

Anyhow, congrats on your purchase.

I gave the soon to be X-Wife my 99 Limited (DOH!) and traded in my BMW on an '05 V8 Sport..... However, now I am trying to figure out what other things I can do to it other than having really dark windows all the way around!

Yeah!!!!!

FYI.. took it up to Mt. Hood for the first time 2 weeks ago here in Oregon! Talk about a solid ride...

Hello, thanks for all the welcomes. I have attached a picture of the old and the new. when I get a little time I will have them face to face. I only hope the 2005 is as trustworthy as my 1993 has been. So far, I am impressed with the ride quality, power and the additional creature comforts - very nice ride.

I also risked going black, and haven't thought twice about it. Matched the front 2 windows to the back ones... Looks great!
