Replaced Valve Cover Gaskets, now won't run.

Apologies in advance if I'm double posting but my searches haven't turned up any solutions and I'm out of ideas.

Replaced Valve Cover gaskets and now it will start but immediately stalls after a few seconds. Any pressure on the accelerator just makes it stall quicker.

I don't have a code reader and I'm not sure where to go from here other than take it all apart and put it back together again or have it towed to the dealership...

Sounds like you need a code reader. There's cheap ones on amazon that will do the job. Make sure all your electrical is plugged in right: MAF, coils, grounds, etc

Starts immediately and stalls?

Sounds like an unplugged MAF sensor. Check all wiring connections and vacuum hose barbs to make sure you have them all back in place.

Go through the process of tearing things down again to see if you missed something. You had to have forgot to plug something back in if it ran before installing the valve cover gaskets. There is alot to take apart in order to change them. Double check or completely disassemble things again.

If you can, post up some high res images that we can zoom in on the vacuum hoses and what not to see if we can spot the one going the wrong way or anything.

It sounds like if the MAF isn't the issue, and we can't spot the vacuum hose that's out of place, you might want to more or less do the job again to the point at which you spot the anomaly. I actually had to do my valve cover seals essentially three times because I forgot to replace the cam shaft plugs on the back (where the actual leak was coming from). It's much easier the second or third time you do it. I went from two long afternoons/evenings to 5 or 6 hours on the second and third go around.

I was pretty paranoid about having what happened to you happen to me so I followed some sage advice and marked every hose and connection point with masking tape and a marker. Yeah, it was a pain, but definitely made for less guess work.

TonyTwoPiece you hit it on the numbers man! I feel like an idiot but I'm glad it wasn't anything serious. I started this project almost two weeks ago and then had to wait for new VCs to come in so it wasn't fresh in my mind when I went back to it... anyway, I spent almost two hours searching online, double checking connections, plugs, hoses, etc., and just missed that one. I try not to ask stupid questions here but I'm not idiot proof yet.

The reason I said that is because I did the same exact thing.

Recently changed my valve cover gaskets, cam seals, spark plug tubes...the works...went to go start it up and it ran for less than a second or so and died. Turns out I forgot to plug my MAF sensor back in. Easy fix thankfully.
