So I'm going to take the jump and replace my fuel pump. It's a job with two purposes. One is to see if it fixes my hard start issue and also as preventative maintenance. I have some extended trips into the wilderness planed this year and having it go out on the trail doesn't sound like fun.
So I could go with a stock type replacement. The Toyota one is $300+.
This is a Denso 96 1996 Toyota 4Runner Fuel Pump Mounting Kit - Fuel Delivery - Denso - PartsGeek And since Denso makes a lot of Toyota parts, it's probably as good as the OE.
This is another option
Buy Airtex Electric Fuel Pump E8213 at Advance Auto Parts
OR, do I upgrade to a pump that could handle a 7th injector (for a future SC)?
Anyone have a model recommendation?
If I don't need the flow of the bigger pump, will it either hurt the pump or something else?
