Replacement map light assembly for first gen 4Runner

Hi:

My interior ceiling map light assembly in my 1984 4Runner has broken into pieces. Any idea where I can buy an entire replacement unit? Does anyone make a suitable replacement unit.

I would settle for a hack of some kind preferably with LEDs. I've got access to a 3D printer if necessary, but don't really want to go down that route.

Thanks.

I had some machined aluminum ones a while back that I was selling but not enough interest in them I will see if I have any left. If not I think the program is still in my machine.

I'd probably be interested in buying one if you have them or end up making some!

Interested. Are we talking dome light assy or map light by rear view mirror?

The ones I made were for the map light. I could try and tackle the rear view light assembly but I have WAY to much in my plate right now to start that maybe after my projects are done.

I'll still look in my stock box to see if I have some left. I also made door handle cups to replace the brittle plastic ones. I know those are popular so I'll order some aluminum for those.

Ok guys I looked at my box of goodies and unfortunately I didn't find any of the aluminum ones I made so I checked the machine memory and it was deleted so after my tdi build I will make some more.

I got door handle cups on ebay. Shipped from thailand if I remember correctly. took about 4 weeks but they were a very nice and cheap upgrade to the deteriotated originals.

I'm pretty sure I have a spare one in gray if that's the color you're needing. Let me know if you're interested and I'll start digging through the garage to look for it.

I'm trying to finish my build then I will be offering aluminum replacements for these on 1st gen. I don't own a second Gen so can't offer replacements as I don't have a model to start from.

Seriously, a 3-D printer?

You got a printer that you honestly considered to dish up a light fixture, before you consider going to the junkyard ?

My god I feel like I've been living in cave under a rock and out back. I got to look into this.

If there's one thing in the world that is not in shortage, It's a G2.4R in the junk yard.

As far as the LED for the bulb itself, there are six or 12 odd LED units available which slip right into the prongs. I bought a small pile of eBay, look for the most LED-bearing units in your size, yeah they're bright, and super cheapa
