I replaced one of the 02 sensors on my V6 2004 4runner. Do I need to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery to get check engine VSC Trac Trac off lights to go out?

Hope you didn't use an Ebay Denso 02 sensor. If you did, take it out and buy one off Amazon or go to the dealer. But to answer your question, yes. Disconnect it for a 10min and hook back up. Then get the free Torque app, or pay for the Pro (well worth it) and get a BT OBD plug and be able clear it like that and be able to look at all the stats of the car!

Just did this on 2005 Matrix, I think it just took 2 or 3 drive cycles for the light to go out on it's own. I much prefer to see the computer cycle it off.
Found another reset option, probably used so your not losing other data like radio presets, clocks, ect; http://www.toyota-4runner.org/557334-post5.html
Also did this on 2005 4Runner, I've been doing some MAF testing and found this, the only thing is it set 20 Toyota Readiness codes, which basically(if I can define these right) are the ecm way to confirm everything is working after a repair. They slowly disappear as each test is passed so you'll know the repair is complete. My 4Runner started and ran fine after doing this, your results may vary.
The Toyota Readiness codes appear under the 'enhanced codes' on my Innova 3160d code reader, not sure this will be the same for other code readers.

reset the engine computer and give the "learning" function a fresh start. To do this go into the fuse box by the battery, remove the fuses labeled 10A ETCS and 20A EFI for a few minutes (vehicle off, key off). Why? Both the engine and the transmission 'learn' your driving style and sometimes they take home the wrong message and learn stupid stuff like 2+2=5. When you go to to restart the truck turn the key on, count to 10 then turn to the start position or it may sputter and stall on the first attempt.
