Replacing 07 factory speakers

I saw the thread a few pages back about the best replacement speakers for an 07 factory unit (non-JBL). I'm wondering if I'll notice a significant different in sound quality (I listen to all types of music -- from jazz, old blues to classic rock) if I simply swap out my factory six factory speakers for some name-brand aftermarket jobs.

Do I need to use an amp to get better sound? If so, can I still use the factory head unit, and will such an installation compromise my mini plug, or other factory electronic features? Or my warranty?

Obviously, I don't know much about car audio, and I certainly appreciate your help.

without changing your head unit you wont notice much of a difference. The factory unit is just really underpowered. I would recomend amping them and changing out to new speakers, or changing the head unit. When you go to a new unit with more power, even the crappy paper cone speaker will sound nice for a while. At least till you pop them and put in new speakers.
