Replacing #2 Fuel injector, what else to replace while ripped apart

Ran into a problem with 99 4runner running rough after being started shortly after shutting off. First start ran fine with no problems at all, after shutting off and starting again within a couple hours it would run rough with shakes at any speed.

I finally have diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel injector on the #2 cylinder. It was reading 56 ohms cold, which I'm fairly certain is bad since all others read between 14.2 and 14.5. A birds nest was built around the fuel injector which I assume caused the failure of the injector.

My question is since I have the intake manifold removed, what else should be replaced as routine maintence. It has 205k miles and I would like to replace anything that is easy now, instead of having to tear apart the intake again, which I found to be quite a process.

I would rather not replace all injectors because of the price but would this be a wise thing at this many miles?

Do the valve cover gaskets.
You'll need two cam seals
6 spark plug tube seals
16 rubber washers

Spark plug wires (OEM $56 at camelback)?
PCV valve and Grommet? BUY TOYOTA PCV VALVE and grommet

Replace all 6 injectors at the same time. Two reasons:
1) this repair sucked.
2) you want all the injectors flowing at the same rate

You can find some good quailty OEM reman units at rockauto.com for $30ea

I'd check the resistance across the other 5 fuel injectors to find out whether any others are on their way out. I don't remember the spec off hand, but if like 4 of them are one value and then a 5th is way different, might want to replace it preemptively as well.

Also, buy a full set of fuel injector O-rings, they're easy to pinch when you're putting the fuel rail back on.

I had the exact same thing happen with my '96, injector #2 started to cut out. Replaced just the one injector with a new made in Japan unit, I think it was a "Standard" branded part. Lucked out and it was only $52, I don't see them on rockauto any more. Truck's been running great since.

• Get your tube seals from Toyota. They're so much better than after market.
• Use vaseline or petroleum based product to lube your injectors or else you'll be tearing it apart again
• Replace your intake and plenum gaskets. Once "crushed" you don't want to use again or else you'll be chasing a vacuum leak.
• FINALLY - Tape and put rags over ALL holes. IF not, your next post may be "Dropped a washer in the....how do I get....."

[MENTION=74071]Brilliant[/MENTION], I used the below link as a visual reference thread and also the Haynes manual. Made my life easier by using different colored paint markers to make off the hoses.

I plan on all the injectors right away now, looking at all 6 for 180 on RockAuto(remanufactured) Getting tube seals from local Toyota dealer next week. Also changing out the ECT sensor while its right there and the intake lower and upper gaskets with some Victor Reinz.
[MENTION=65101]BrianSD_42[/MENTION], I have saw that a couple times now throughout the forum that RockAuto isn't the best solution. Trying to find something thats OEM or of better quality.

I picked mine up from LCE Engineering. They back their product and at $299 plus a $50 core charge you're looking at about $50 per injector. I've been real happy them. They are Toyota.

Problem with rockauto is they source parts from all over the quality spectrum - you just have to research what you're ordering.

I took a chance with a used injector on ebay for $25 for my camry once. It worked out. You don't want one injector spraying perfectly while the other 5 struggle to keep up.
